The Milwaukee Admirals needed a specialty jersey to celebrate Milwaukee Day on April 14th (4/14). Using elements from the People's Flag of Milwaukee, I channeled a classic retro NHL color-blocking style that would appeal to casual and die-hard hockey fans alike. It filled my heart with joy and excitement knowing game worn jerseys were put up for auction, bringing in thousands of dollars to benefit charities. This jersey quickly transformed into a symbol of gratitude for individuals that contribute so much for Milwaukee. There was plenty of merchandise that I designed and it was fun to see how flooded the pro shop was since I attended the game. The response from the fan base was overwhelmingly positive, to say the least. In a perfect world I wish every project could have the meaning, reach and impact this one had.
"Our Milwaukee Day theme night was truly brought to life through the incredible work by Eric Taggart and the team at Traction Factory. Eric’s concepts celebrating the People’s Flag gave us a look that really captured the essence of the entire program we developed and set a record for an Admirals jersey auction. We earned rave reviews from our fans and the Milwaukee community leaders that we shared these jerseys with during the course of the week leading up to the game."
